Biography

Omri Givon is an acclaimed Israeli film and television director, writer, and creator known for shaping some of Israel's most successful and globally exported dramatic series. He first gained widespread critical recognition with his 2008 feature film debut Seven Minutes in Heaven, which won the Best Israeli Film award at the Haifa International Film Festival. He subsequently achieved major international prominence as the co-creator, writer, and director of the thriller series Hostages (Bnei Aruba), which became the first Israeli drama series purchased by Netflix and was notably adapted into an American CBS series starring Toni Collette. Givon further cemented his reputation in prestige television by creating and directing the critically acclaimed series When Heroes Fly—which won Best Series at the Canneseries Festival and later inspired the Apple TV+ adaptation Echo 3—as well as directing episodes for the hit espionage thriller Fauda and creating the mystery thriller miniseries The Grave.
