A longtime fan of NCT, Ryo was discovered by an SM Entertainment casting director while attending an NCT 127 concert with his older sister. He placed fifth in the final selection, securing his position in the group's debut lineup. Following pre-debut activities under the name NCT NEW TEAM, he officially debuted with NCT WISH on February 21, 2024, during SMTOWN LIVE 2024 SMCU PALACE @TOKYO at Tokyo Dome.

His performances combine natural warmth with growing confidence, reflecting his development as both a vocalist and performer. Having gone from admiring NCT as a fan to becoming a member himself, Ryo continues to pursue his passion for music through the group's releases, concert tours, and international performances.
