1966年，鲍德温出生在美国纽约州纽约市纳苏县，鲍德温是家中最小的，他的兄弟有著名演员亚历克，丹尼尔和威廉，有时被称为“鲍德温兄弟”。[3] 鲍德温出生在一个信奉天主教的家庭，他们具有爱尔兰，英格兰和法国血统。[4] 鲍德温还有2个姐妹，一个叫伊丽莎白，一个叫简萨。
身高：1.78米.，名气不如亚历和威廉两位兄长，论演技可毫不逊色。他在纽约州立大学毕业後，担任内衣模特儿，其後被星探发掘进入电视界，以影集《原野飙龙》崛起。88年以《铁拳浪子》步入影坛，其後不计角色大小遍尝各种戏路，逐渐当上主角，在《神魂颠倒三人行》和《亡命悍将》等片均有不俗表现。
