Biografia
Ryan J. Condal is an American screenwriter and producer. He serves as showrunner for the prequel House of the Dragon, jointly with Miguel Sapochnik in the first season. He has previously been a showrunner for the American science fiction drama series Colony. He has also worked on a cancelled fantasy western, at the filming of which he met George R.R. Martin.
Condal is familiar with A Song of Ice and Fire, having discovered the series when A Storm of Swords was published. According to Martin, Condal originally wanted to create a show about The Tales of Dunk & Egg, a series that Martin claimed was not ready to be brought to television. However, Warner Bros. Discovery announced in April 2023 that A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, then titled A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight, had been greenlit, and Condal was attached as an executive producer.
