Biografia
Karierę aktorską Donald Sutherland rozpoczynał od ról w niskobudżetowych włoskich horrorach. Popularność i doskonałe recenzje przyniosła mu dopiero kreacja "Sokolego oka" w głośnym obrazie Roberta Altmana "M.A.S.H.", za którą w 1971 r. otrzymał nominację do Złotego Globu. Był to moment przełomowy w karierze Sutherlanda. W tym samym roku wystąpił u boku Jane Fondy w doskonałym filmie Alana J. Pakuli "Klute". W 1976 r. zagrał tytułową rolę w "Casanovie" Felliniego, a pięć lat później otrzymał kolejną nominację do Złotego Globu za kreację w "Zwyczajnych ludziach" Roberta Redforda. W życiu prywatnym Donald Sutherland jest postacią bardzo kontrowersyjną. W latach 70. był zagorzałym przeciwnikiem wojny w Wietnamie i w 1972 r. wraz z Jane Fondą nakręcił pacyfistyczny film "F.T.A.". Sutherland jest aktorem wybitnym. Mimo, iż wiele filmów z jego udziałem nie zalicza się do obrazów ambitnych, to kreacje, które stworzył na długo pozostają w pamięci widza.
