A love couple goes to a faraway holiday home for a romantic rendezvous. After making love, the middle-aged man feels ill, and the young woman leaves to get help. When he comes round, he meets a man known as the Helper in near-death experiences. The Helper makes the man face his past: he realises what mistakes he has made. He tries to do penance but the story takes an unexpected twist...
