Alla fine degli anni '60 è diventato un membro dei Monty Python, la compagnia comica responsabile dello sketch show Monty Python's Flying Circus e dei quattro film dei Monty Python: And Now for Something Completely Different, Holy Grail, Life of Brian e The Meaning of Life.
