His best friend is Pete Komisky, a lobbyist who sees the filth in D.C. for what it is, and doesn't think it will be cleaned up anytime soon. They are joined in their rowhouse by Mason's sister, Finley Scott, who ditched graduate school for the adventure of Washington.
