The telenovela stars Lucélia Santos, Jonas Mello, Angelina Muniz, Danton Mello, Manuela Dias, Giuseppe Oristânio, Luiz Guilherme, and Sérgio Mamberti. Set in 1977 in the countryside of Rio Grande do Sul, the story follows Anja Guimarães Castilhos, a woman who breaks with the conservative traditions of her town after discovering her fiancé's betrayal.
